Customer Background
Partnering with the City of Seattle, Washington’s Information Technology Department, on behalf of Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle City Light, and their Utility Assistance Programs (UAPs), TEAM IM was ready to continue our involvement supporting the assistance application program. The City Government of Seattle employs approximately 10,000 people, and City IT is responsible for over 900 individual applications.
The City of Seattle offers special rates or limited grants to citizens that are struggling to pay their utility bills. These assistance programs are funded by the city and by generous citizens who choose to add additional payments on their own utility bills. After TEAM IM's involvement in developing and releasing the UAP application, our continued involvement and expertise was requested.
Project Details
Upon conclusion of the UAP project, the City of Seattle engaged TEAM IM to provide support services to complete identified enhancements to the application, provide support for the underlying Oracle WebCenter infrastructure and transition operational knowledge to the City of Seattle’s information technology team with the objective of creating long-term capability within the City’s IT team of maintaining and improving the application.
- TEAM IM participated in near-daily maintenance stand-ups to ensure immediate needs were met.
- Worked with Seattle IT staff to develop understanding of the platform and application.
- Developed enhancements in conjunction with Seattle IT staff, ensuring knowledge handover.
- Investigated and collaborated on fixes for identified issues, providing coverage for all releases.
TEAM IM is exceptionally proud of our ongoing relationship with the City of Seattle. Through engagements like this, TEAM IM brings the development cycle full circle by supporting and supplementing city staff until they can service the application independently. The multi-year development and support partnership has yielded terrific results for the residents of Seattle.
