Customer Background
This insurance and wealth management group has a history that stretches back to 1984. It is one of the largest groups in North America that is based in Austin, Texas. The group offers F&I administration, training and operates its own full-service insurance company throughout the United States.
Project Details
The wealth management and insurance group selected M-Files as its Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform but required a partner with deep expertise in both M-Files and ABBYY, along with broad ECM best practices, to ensure a successful implementation.
Their initial focus was improving the automobile warranty cancellation process, which was highly manual, time-consuming, and susceptible to errors.
The organization sells automobile warranties to consumers through car dealerships. When a vehicle is traded in, the associated warranty is typically canceled. Cancellation documentation may arrive in multiple formats, including emailed PDFs, scanned paper documents, or faxes. Each cancellation must be identified and validated using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) tied to the automobile.
With extensive implementation experience in both M-Files and ABBYY, TEAM IM was uniquely positioned to address these challenges.
Using ABBYY’s intelligent document processing capabilities, TEAM IM configured the system to identify and classify cancellation documents based on visual markers, page counts, VIN numbers, and submission source. ABBYY leverages advanced OCR, natural language processing, and document recognition technologies to accurately capture and extract key data from a wide range of formats.
This flexibility enabled automated data capture from emails, PDFs, scanned documents, and faxes, ensuring consistent and reliable processing regardless of how documents were received.
The ABBYY solution was then integrated with M-Files to automate business process intake and trigger the appropriate workflows. Through M-Files Workflow, required validations and approvals are completed before each cancellation document is securely stored.
Following the success of this implementation, the insurance and wealth management group is now expanding its use of M-Files across additional areas of the organization and continues to partner with TEAM IM for Enhanced Support.
The group needed a way to achieve efficiencies with their cancellations process. By utilizing M-Files and ABBYY, they were able to automate the cancellation process, reduce errors, increase throughput, and reduce the number of resources to process the cancellations.
