Tangata Tiriti - Treaty People

Tangata Tiriti – Treaty People is an education programme on the Te Tiriti o Waitangi: the Treaty of Waitangi. Its key aim is to build relationships between tangata Tiriti – people of the Treaty (non-Māori), and tangata whenua – people of the land (Māori).

TEAM IM has always supported the community and encourages employees to volunteer for such programs by providing paid ‘Volunteering Leave.’

With the support from TEAM IM, Business Analyst Snehal More was able to attend the Tangata Tiriti workshop in Hamilton in 2019. The Tangata Tiriti workshop strives to help the wider community in Aotearoa by providing simple and accurate information about the ‘Treaty of Waitangi.’ Snehal teamed up with Tangata Tiriti – Treaty People to complete a project translating the Te Tiriti resources into the ‘Hindi’ language.
