ABBYY Vantage for M-Files Customization: Skill Parameters

One significant benefit of the Vantage for M-Files connector is its remarkable flexibility, allowing any necessary modifications to be seamlessly integrated to fit your unique business processes. For instance, one of our merchant clients identified a need for enhanced data accuracy and requested the capability to send additional data, referred to as skill parameters. These skill parameters are essentially specific pieces of information that can be used to fine-tune and match data with greater precision, ensuring that the system operates more effectively and meets the client's specific requirements.

The idea is that users would be able to send key value pairs to Vantage, which are essentially pairs of related data points where one element (the key) is used to identify the other element (the value). For example, if there were a Vendor involved in the process, users would be able to send the Vendor ID as a key, along with its corresponding value, to Vantage. This would enable Vantage to accurately determine which specific Vendor to use by matching the Vendor ID with the correct vendor information stored in the system. This capability ensures that the data is processed with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, reducing the likelihood of errors and streamlining the workflow.

This change was one of many changes requested by our merchant client and has since significantly boosted their productivity. They no longer have to spend an excessive amount of time manually verifying if the vendor information is correct or not, which was previously a time-consuming and error-prone task. By automating this process, the client has been able to reallocate their resources more efficiently, allowing their team to focus on more strategic and value-added activities.
