Microsoft's recently released Syntex repository services provide a novel approach to developing file and document-focused applications. Powered by SharePoint and entirely API-driven, Syntex is designed for developers, enterprises, and independent software vendors (ISVs) to integrate Microsoft 365 file and document capabilities into their applications.

Syntex allows the creation of apps within the Microsoft 365 tenant boundary, extending Microsoft 365's security and compliance features to the apps. It also enables Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, thus embedding Microsoft's content management capabilities into these new applications. Unique to Syntex is the introduction of "repository containers," enabling app developers to manage files and documents within customers' Microsoft 365 tenants, providing document management capabilities that are enormously scalable.

Syntex supports collaboration experiences for Office documents and even integrates with the Fluid Framework for real-time collaboration. This feature enables us to rework every business process into a "multiplayer collaboration. "Finally, Syntex is integrated with Microsoft Purview, leveraging customers' security and compliance investments in Microsoft 365, ensuring the secure management of sensitive documents.

We're very excited about the opportunities Syntex repository services enable for our clients and partners, and they will immediately become part of our analysis framework for M365 customers. Look for more information and drill down on this in the coming months!
